Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Corewell Health. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing accurate and efficient ultrasound exams using appropriate imaging equipment. You will work under the site designate leader and according to established policies and procedures to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient identification and physician order
  • Provide procedural information/education to patients/families prior to each exam
  • Acquire an accurate patient history and document in the medical record
  • Perform ultrasound and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods
  • Proficiently operate ultrasound imaging equipment and perform necessary quality control and quality assurance testing
  • Monitor patients during procedures to ensure patient safety
  • Review ultrasound images with the Radiologist, as necessary
  • Ensure STAT requests are relayed to radiologist in a timely manner
Requirements
  • Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent
  • Registered by American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registry eligible
  • Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers at hire through the American Heart Association
