About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health Equity Policy Advocate to join our team. This role will be responsible for leading our efforts to advance policy change and develop community relations at the local and state levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze proposed policy priorities and initiatives to determine their potential impact on our organization and the populations we serve.
  • Develop strategic proposals and responses to maximize community benefit.
  • Oversee and conduct research on legislative proposals and advocacy documents to address systemic inequities.
  • Create state legislative agenda, local initiatives, policy briefs, white papers, fact sheets, advocacy alerts, presentations, testimony, and coalition letters to educate and influence key stakeholders.
  • Develop strategies to build coalitions aimed at growing grassroots efforts and mobilizing local communities to affect policy change.
  • Oversee the reporting and tracking of federal and state advocacy and lobbying activities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Health Care Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in public policy and advocacy at local, state, and federal levels, with a focus on state healthcare delivery systems, public health, or related fields.
  • Superior conceptual, analytical, change management, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to convene, facilitate, and coordinate strategic activities that require cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience working on behalf of underserved populations and addressing disparities that impact health and well-being.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably with senior leaders, community members, and other stakeholders.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $132,964 - $199,446 per year, commensurate with experience and education. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
