Firefighter Paramedic

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter Paramedic to join our team at the City of Arcadia, CA. As a Firefighter Paramedic, you will be responsible for responding to emergency medical calls, providing advanced life support, and participating in fire prevention and suppression activities.

• Respond to emergency medical calls and provide advanced life support, including EKG interpretation, intravenous access, and medication administration.
• Participate in fire prevention and suppression activities, including conducting fire inspections and enforcing fire safety codes.
• Operate a variety of fire apparatus and equipment, including engines, trucks, and rescue units.
• Provide patient care and transportation to medical facilities, including administering first aid and performing CPR.
• Participate in training and education programs to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.

• California State Paramedic License with local accreditation.
• Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations certificates.
• Emergency Medical Technician P certification.
• California State Fire Marshal Fire Fighter I Certification.
• Ability to obtain a California State Fire Marshal Fire Fighter II Certification within 12 months of employment.
• Ability to obtain AFD Truck Tiller certification within 12 months of employment.
• Possession of CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
• National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS 700.
• Incident Command System (ICS) 100 and 200.
• Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license.

The Firefighter Paramedic will work in a fast-paced emergency medical services environment, responding to emergency calls and participating in fire prevention and suppression activities. The position requires the ability to work in a team environment, communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, and make quick decisions in emergency situations.

The Firefighter Paramedic will be required to work a variety of shifts, including day, night, and weekend shifts, and may be required to work overtime. The position also requires the ability to lift 125 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
