Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our patients' care plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans, and provide education to patients and families on health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contribute to the development of policies and procedures, and engage in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in acute care nursing.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care, and contribute to the development of our patients' care plans.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
  • Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP Certified.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Eligible for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years' related working experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Working knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols at a department and campus/system level.
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The incumbent must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, stoop, bend, reach, and grab with arms and hands, and manual dexterity. The position also requires exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue, and may involve occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or hazardous waste.
