About the Role
HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team on a PRN basis. As a Registered Nurse in our ER, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients
- Meeting the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department and managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment
- Participating in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care
- Routinely providing triage assessment for patients presenting for treatment
- Routinely performing venipunctures for obtaining specimens for lab tests
- Routinely providing intervention in emergency, life-threatening situations
- Assuming the responsibility of charging the department, as needed
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelors Degree (BS) preferred
- Current Texas licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners as an RN
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification
- One (1) year of Critical Care experience in ER or ICU
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification
