Composite Fabricator

This position is for a Composite Fabricator, responsible for assisting higher-graded workers in inspecting, repairing, modifying, removing, installing, troubleshooting, and documenting Low Observable (LO) systems and structures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the inspection, repair, modification, removal, installation, and troubleshooting of LO systems and structures.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance with minimal instruction from higher-graded Composite Fabricators.
- Repair and maintain composite, advanced composites, metal, and thermoplastic aircraft structures.
- Apply and maintain corrosion preventatives and paints on aircraft, powered, and non-powered AGE.
- 12 months experience or training demonstrating a working knowledge of composite and plastic bonding agents, sheet metal theory, and LO material characteristics.
- Knowledge of basic shop mathematics, hand and powered tools, and health hazards associated with maintenance.
- Ability to learn new skills and apply them to work in this series.
This position requires working in a typical aircraft maintenance facility, with periodic outside work on an active aircraft flight line. The individual will be exposed to potentially dangerous environments, including operating engines, hazardous noise, stored energy, RF radiation, and hazardous chemicals.
Physical EffortThe worker will be required to exert self when bending, shaping, or constructing complex items, and may be required to lift heavy equipment and components weighing up to 50 pounds and with assistance up to 100 pounds.
