Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team at North Shore Inc. As a Cytotechnologist, you will play a critical role in the evaluation and reporting of negative gynecological cases, as well as the interpretation of abnormal gynecological, non-gynecological, and fine needle aspiration cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and report negative gynecological cases
  • Interpret abnormal gynecological, non-gynecological, and fine needle aspiration cases
  • Identify diagnostic material and refer cases to pathologists as needed
  • Provide technical advice and perform cytopreparation and processing as needed
  • Maintain records of screening slide counts and other activities
  • Assist cytology management in gathering data relevant to quality assurance activities and continuous improvement activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 28 semester hours of combined biology and chemistry and 3 semester hours of mathematics or statistics
  • Successful completion of a 12-month CAAHEP accredited Cytotechnology program
  • Cytotechnologist, CT (ASCP) certification or eligibility
  • Recent cytopreparation experience and fine needle aspiration adequacy assessment experience
  • ThinPrep certification required
