Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Pathologist Assistant to join our team at KA Recruiting Inc. This role is responsible for supporting the mission, vision, and goals of our organization by providing high-quality services in the grossing room.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specimen Submission and Dictation: The successful candidate will submit and dictate all surgical specimens for processing, ensuring timely and accurate results.
  • Equipment Maintenance: They will maintain and keep the cutting room properly supplied, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Photography and Tissue Preparation: The Pathologist Assistant will photograph specimens as designated by the pathologist and prepare tissue for further testing.
  • Continuing Education: They will review procedure manuals, stay current with procedural changes, and participate in continuing education activities under the guidance of a pathologist.
  • Lab Safety and Security: The successful candidate will exercise all laboratory safety precautions, adhere to lab procedures, and protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information and other sensitive company data.

Requirements:

  • Education and Certification: A Bachelor's degree in Pathology or a related field is required, along with ASCP or equivalent certification as a Pathologist Assistant.
  • Experience and Training: Two years of experience as a Pathologist Assistant is preferred, but successful completion of a formal Pathologist Assistant Training program is also acceptable.
