Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a Related Field: A bachelor's degree in education or a related field is required for this position.
  • Director of Religious Education (DRE) or Religious Education Coordinator (REC) Experience: At least two years of experience as a DRE or REC in military chapels or churches is required.
  • Active, Practicing Protestant Christian: The ideal candidate will be an active, practicing Protestant Christian with a pastoral reference.
  • Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Manage a Yearly RE Event Calendar: Develop and manage a yearly RE event calendar, including organizing teacher training sessions and coordinating major religious retreats and camps.
  • Handle Publicity Materials and Supplies: Handle publicity materials, track and order supplies, update RE files, manage budgets, and oversee attendance records.
  • Ensure Adherence to Air Force Directives: Ensure adherence to Air Force directives and local operating instructions relevant to religious education.
  • Criminal Background Checks: Conduct criminal background checks for all volunteers and teachers before they interact with children.
