Job Summary

This position is responsible for delivering high-quality care to women who are admitted to the Family Birth Center. The ideal candidate will have experience in maternal-fetal assessment, pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management, and stabilization and transition of the normal newborn at delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct maternal-fetal assessments to identify potential risks and complications
  • Provide nursing support to laboring patients, utilizing evidence-based pain management strategies
  • Stabilize and transition normal newborns at delivery, ensuring a smooth transition to postpartum care
  • Circulate and scrub for cesarean sections, providing expert care to patients undergoing this procedure
  • Care for post-surgical patients, ensuring their comfort and safety
  • Assist anesthesiologists with epidural insertion and provide care to patients with regional anesthesia
  • Provide care to high-risk maternity patients, working closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN degree preferred
  • One year of related work experience in an acute care setting required
  • Previous recent Labor and Delivery experience preferred, or one to two years Med/Surg experience with completion of Mother/Baby Education program
  • Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) completion within six months of date of hire
  • National Certification Corporation (NCC) or American Nurses Credentialing Center certification preferred
