Overview:
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for providing both emergency and non-emergency medical care and transportation services to individuals who are ill or injured. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients during transit.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver pre-hospital emergency care and transportation services to patients in need.
2. Ensure safe and efficient patient transport while adhering to all protocols.
3. Accurately document patient information and transport details in compliance with established guidelines.
4. Maintain equipment in a state of readiness for immediate use.
5. Operate emergency vehicles safely while managing patient care.
6. Provide high-quality transportation services for patients requiring wheelchair or livery assistance.
7. Complete required continuing medical education (CME) and training as assigned.
8. Assist in the orientation and training of new staff and students during their practical rotations.
9. Participate in system improvements and maintain cleanliness of vehicles and equipment.
10. Uphold all compliance standards related to the position.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license in the State of Connecticut.
- Compliance with random drug screening.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized organization.
- Minimum of six months of relevant experience.
- State of Connecticut DPH - EMT certification or equivalent.

Working Conditions:
- Significant manual dexterity and motor coordination required.
- High occupational risk associated with emergency medical services.
- Ability to exert very heavy physical effort, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to various environmental factors, including dirt and noise.
