Job Summary

The Recreation Therapist (Hourly) will be responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering recreation therapy services to individuals with substance use disorders and mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a variety of recreation services to individuals and groups, modifying activities to meet the needs of participants.
  • Review and evaluate program effectiveness, recommending changes or specialized activities as needed.
  • Attend treatment plan review sessions, providing input on program participants' participation in recreational activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with program standards.
  • Arrange transportation for recreational activities and maintain recreational supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of recreation therapy policies and procedures.
  • Provide supportive counseling and crisis intervention as needed.
Requirements

Candidates must be eligible and maintain eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field, or equivalent experience and credentials.

Additional requirements include the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
