Position Summary
We are seeking a Medical Assistant responsible for executing essential administrative and clinical tasks to ensure smooth operations within an outpatient clinic environment. This role is pivotal in delivering safe, high-quality care and exceptional service to patients, healthcare providers, and the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care and Support
- Timely escorting of patients to examination rooms while keeping the clinical team informed of any delays.
- Preparing patients for examinations and triaging as necessary for various procedures.
- Assisting physicians during patient evaluations and ensuring appropriate wound care and education.
- Administering injections and preparing necessary medications and equipment.
- Coordinating referrals for additional services as required.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of clinical areas to uphold infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program is preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Experience in an orthopedic healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in practice management and EHR software, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with patients and staff.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform a full range of motion, including lifting and handling patients.
- Involves standing and walking for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs. for patient transfers.
