Key Responsibilities- Perform a full spectrum of custodial activities, including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Utilize knowledge and experience of custodial procedures to perform tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Operate necessary tools and equipment in a safe manner to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Ensure all meeting and furniture setup requests are completed in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform general cleaning in office areas, including accurately using cleaning agents and observing warnings on labels.
- Apply knowledge of facilities maintenance to perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, furnishings, and other equipment.
- Use demonstrated experience and versatility in carpentry and painting to maintain and repair architectural features, finishes, and furnishings.
- Maintain security by ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas and securing the building after normal business hours.
- Accommodate required entry for after-hour events and apply basic knowledge of commercial fire alarm systems to monitor and operate basic fire panel functions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six (6) months of custodial experience.
- Appointment will be conditional upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrual is based on years of service with the County, starting at 6.4 hours accruing each pay period (20.8 days per year), with the maximum accrual rate of 35.75 days per year.
- Holidays: Eleven paid holidays, including New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a Spring Holiday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve Day.
- Retirement: The County provides a retirement account in Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). Employees pay one-half of the actuarially required contributions.
- Health Insurance: The County offers health insurance coverage, including vision, for employees and their families.
- Dental Insurance: The County offers dental insurance coverage for employees and their families.
- Flexible Spending Accounts: Eligible employees may use tax-free dollars to pay for eligible out-of-pocket dependent care, medical, dental, and eye care expenses for themselves and their eligible family members.
- Voluntary Short- and Long-term disability insurance, Accident, and Critical Illness Insurance: May be purchased at group rates.
- Life Insurance: The County provides the opportunity to purchase Whole and Term Life Insurance plans for themselves and their dependents.
