Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team on a per diem basis. As an Occupational Therapist with Nuvance Health, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients in an acute care setting, providing comprehensive care and developing treatment plans to meet their unique needs.

Responsibilities:

Perform therapy examinations and develop treatment plans with patient input
Provide care to special populations, including Total Joint Replacement and Stroke, in accordance with hospital protocols
Delegate and supervise patient-related tasks to assistants, aides, and support personnel
Collaborate with other disciplines to provide coordinated interdisciplinary patient care
Support excellence of the organization and customer satisfaction
Contribute to the ongoing professional development of self, department, and the network
Manage time effectively and demonstrate willingness to work a variety of scheduling patterns within individual control hours
Make independent decisions within the scope of defined job description, level of knowledge, skills, and abilities, but seek guidance as necessary for performance of duties
Contribute to peer review as required
Utilize evidence-based practice and AOTA guidelines for patient care
Meet or exceed productivity and documentation requirements
Accept other duties as assigned and adhere to all departmental and hospital policies

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited curriculum with a minimum of a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy
Current license to practice Occupational Therapy in Connecticut
CPR Certification
Meets continuing education requirements for state licensure and CPR Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience delivering comprehensive care in an acute setting to patients with physical dysfunction secondary to disability, disease, or injury in accordance with professional standards of practice
Previous experience with diagnoses including orthopedic, pulmonary, oncology, pain management, vestibular, amputations, multi-trauma, neurological, and medically complex patients

Work Environment:

This per diem position will provide coverage on an as-needed basis, with no guaranteed hours associated with this role. The successful candidate must have weekday availability and be willing to cover one weekend per month. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care in a team-based setting.
