Job Summary:

Amergis is seeking a skilled RN Telemetry Specialist to join our team. As a RN Telemetry Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to telemetry patients. You will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care on the telemetry unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform focused interviews to identify specific patient needs
  • Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition
  • Monitor EKG output and keep doctors informed of any changes
  • Record vital signs, including oxygen levels, blood pressure, breathing patterns, etc.
  • Monitor patient progress and update patient medical records as needed
  • Respond to patients experiencing cardiac pain
  • Perform various diagnostic tests
  • Manage and administer medication
  • Monitor and use the electrocardiogram, EKG, or ECG
  • Educate patients on cardiac health and communicate with patient's family when applicable
  • Administer tests, analyze lab results, and report them to the physician
  • Document the patient's plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions
  • Identify and prioritize actions based upon patient care requirements
  • Perform interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standard
  • Provide a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic patient environment
  • Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes in medical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventions
  • Document patient's response to nursing and other interventions
  • Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including established priorities
  • Monitor safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment

Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse license for the state in which the nurse practices
  • One year experience in Telemetry Preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Assignment Details:

  • 11/4 Start
  • 13 week contract
  • 36 hours per week
  • Day and night shifts both available

Assignment Requirements:

  • Must be proficient with lab draws
  • VA RN license (Or Compact RN)

BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
Must live 50 miles from facility (no local contracts allowed)
1 year of acute experience
Will need to pass a Dysrhythmia exam
