Overview: Seeking a skilled individual with journeyman certification to support customers and collaborate with team members while preparing and processing meat products for retail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Butchery Specialist Duties:

  • Evaluates meat items for quality and freshness
  • Organizes and presents merchandise in the department
  • Utilizes various equipment including meat slicers, grinders, saws, sausage stuffers, and tenderizers
  • Employs a range of knives for precise cutting
  • Operates in a controlled temperature environment averaging 34°F

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ascends ladders or stair towers to access stock
  • Prepares products for packaging
  • Unloads and organizes pallets
  • Receives and verifies incoming shipments
  • Provides assistance to customers
  • Maintains stock levels and rotates inventory
  • Handles incoming calls

Essential Qualifications: A friendly demeanor with a strong customer service focus, excellent memory retention, superior hand-eye coordination, reliability, ability to adhere to instructions, and a keen willingness to learn.

Work Environment: Regular exposure to varying weather conditions and temperature fluctuations. Time spent in cooler and freezer environments is limited to no more than one hour at a time, with an average back room temperature of 34°F.
