Correctional Officer

Vets Hired is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Jailer in our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for maintaining order and discipline in our facility, ensuring the safety and well-being of detainees, and providing exceptional customer service to the public.

• Adhere to City attendance and punctuality policies, demonstrating dependability and a strong work ethic.
• Ensure compliance with all City safety policies, including the use of protective equipment and adherence to pre-duty precautions.
• Present a professional appearance and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Additional duties may include:

• Maintaining accurate records and reports, including logs and incident reports.
• Processing detainees, including fingerprinting and photographing, and ensuring the safekeeping of personal belongings.
• Caring for detainees, including feeding and checking on their welfare at regular intervals.
• Cleaning and maintaining the facility, including equipment and supplies.
• Providing general support, including answering phones and taking messages.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Knowledge of standard broadcasting procedures and rules, as well as standard radio or telephone communications receiving and transmitting equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and to use computers, cameras, and other electronic devices in accordance with their duties.
• Ability to operate all communication equipment and office equipment quickly and accurately.
