About the Job

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in a full-time, ongoing position. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Operative Preparation: Assist in preparing the operating room, including setting up equipment, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Assisting Surgeons: Provide support to surgeons during procedures, including passing instruments, retracting tissue, and maintaining a sterile field.
  • Patient Care: Assist in positioning patients, applying surgical drapes, and maintaining patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all equipment is properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained to prevent cross-contamination and ensure patient safety.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, to ensure seamless execution of procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Experience: No prior experience is required, but a strong understanding of surgical procedures and patient care is essential.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
