Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our team at AmTrust Financial Services. As an Insurance Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting new business insurance policies through solid risk analysis, pricing, and servicing. You will adhere to corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines, operate within written authority grants, and make referrals to management as required.

You will provide professional, timely, and courteous communication and service to external clients and cross-departmental staff. You will also provide pertinent information and guidance to support staff required to process coverage requests in accordance with service guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite new business insurance policies through solid risk analysis, pricing, and servicing.
  • Adhere to corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines.
  • Operate within written authority grants and make referrals to management as required.
  • Provide professional, timely, and courteous communication and service to external clients and cross-departmental staff.
  • Provide pertinent information and guidance to support staff required to process coverage requests in accordance with service guidelines.

Requirements:

  • At least 2+ years' experience in Finance, Insurance, or Payroll.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPCU, ASLI, or CIC designation preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Background in Workers' Compensation.
  • Multiline underwriting experience preferred.
