Job Summary

This is an ideal role for an experienced clinician who thrives on direct clinical work and enjoys developing new initiatives and programming. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with IUSM stakeholders, faculty, staff, and learners to support medical learners and promote a respectful and inclusive IUSM learning environment.

Department-Specific Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat mental health concerns for IUSM medical trainees statewide.
  • Contribute to personal development, maturation, and wellness of medical learners.
  • Facilitate adjustment to the School of Medicine, residency training programs, and fellowship programs.
  • Support academic persistence and provide direct clinical services, including individual evaluations, individual counseling, couples counseling, group therapy, triage, and crisis care.
  • Deliver quality clinical care and provide consultation to faculty, administrators, and stakeholders for issues that have psychological implications.
  • Design and deliver psycho-educational programming and community outreach services for IUSM medical trainees, with a focus on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Work effectively as a collaborative member of the mental health services team to develop and implement programming and outreach.
  • Participate in the assessment, implementation, and development of improvements to the delivery of mental health services and programming provided to medical trainees across the IUSM system.
  • Engage in policy formulation and implementation related to diversity and inclusion efforts for DMHS.
General Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual intake assessments and provide direct clinical mental health services to individuals, groups, and couples.
  • Manage individual caseloads and maintain accurate, timely clinical notes.
  • Consult with and refer to other professionals when appropriate and utilize evidence-based clinical interventions.
  • Participate in active educational outreach programs and may supervise Master's level mental health students.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in a relevant mental health area from an accredited program and have at least 4 years of post-degree experience. A doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology is preferred, as is experience working with minoritized populations and providing programs and outreach that advance values of diversity, social justice, and cultural competency within the delivery of mental health care.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Indiana or license eligible upon date of hire is required, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Indiana or license eligible upon date of hire. The successful candidate will also possess proficient communication skills, maintain a high degree of professionalism, and demonstrate a high commitment to quality.
