Assembler Job Description

The Assembler I at Ditch Witch is responsible for performing mechanical work building machinery using various hand and power tools. This includes working with mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, and electrical systems on machinery.

This role requires reading information from blueprints, drawings, production records, written instructions, technical documents, etc. The employee must also fit, position, and fasten components to build machinery or sub-assemblies of machinery using vises, clamps, wrenches, air-powered tools, pliers, etc.

The ideal candidate will have high school diploma or equivalent preferred, appropriate basic mechanical skills, and aptitude. Professional mechanical assembly or repair experience would be a plus.

Estimated Salary: $18.30/hr

Work Environment: Manufacturing plant conditions (indoors, with variable temperature, humidity, noise, and dirt). Physical hazards such as powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, compressed air power supplies, and materials handling.

  • Be able to regularly handle items weighing up to 60 pounds from floor to knuckle.
  • Be able to regularly pull or push items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to regularly lift items weighing up to 35 pounds from knuckle to shoulder.
  • Be able to regularly lift items weighing up to 25 pounds from shoulder to overhead.
