About The Opportunity

As the Financial Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple Daycare centers, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include:
  • Timely filing of financial reports.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of the general ledger and regularly reviewing accounts to ensure precise reporting.
  • Supervising accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring prompt processing of invoices and payments.
  • Assisting with treasury functions, including cash flow management and bank reconciliations.
  • Managing month-end and year-end closing processes for all centers, including the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
  • Collaborating with senior management to develop budgets and forecasts, analyzing financial trends to inform business decisions.
  • Overseeing payroll functions, ensuring accurate calculation and reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Developing and implementing internal controls to enhance financial data accuracy.
  • Leading and mentoring the accounting team to foster a culture of high performance.
  • Coordinating with external auditors during audits and implementing procedural improvements.
  • Providing strategic financial analysis to senior management to support fiscal planning.
  • Evaluating work processes to drive automation and efficiency.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP and IRS requirements for non-profit organizations.
  • A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience in progressively responsible management roles.
  • At least 5 years of recent experience in a senior accounting position.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics GP.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and budget management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage teams effectively.
  • Experience with fund accounting and financial interactions between related parties is a plus.
