Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Litigation Efforts: As Chief Attorney, you will be responsible for leading our litigation efforts, including managing our docket of personal injury cases, appearing in court, and performing all phases of discovery.
  • Provide Expert Legal Advice: You will provide expert legal advice to our clients and staff on a wide range of legal matters, including personal injury cases, contract disputes, and other complex legal issues.
  • Manage and Mentor Team Members: You will be responsible for managing and mentoring our team members, including junior attorneys, paralegals, and other support staff.
  • Stay Up-to-Date on Industry Developments: You will stay up-to-date on industry developments, including changes in laws and regulations, and ensure that our team is aware of these changes.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: You must have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited school of law and be licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and Federal courts. You must also have at least 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with at least 3 years of experience in tort law and/or experience in state and federal court.
  • Skills and Abilities: You must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must also be able to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Working Conditions

You will work in a general office environment, with occasional site visits to non-office locations. You must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Detailed Knowledge of Applicable Laws: You must have a detailed knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, including tort law and contract law.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: You must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to Work Well Under Pressure: You must be able to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
