Job Description

As a hospital veterinarian at Petco, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care while promoting a positive experience for our clients. Your expertise will be valued as you work collaboratively with our medical team to diagnose and treat diseases, develop treatment plans, and provide preventive care.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform physical examinations, diagnose and treat diseases, and provide preventive care according to patient signalment, lifestyle, and environment.
  • Document all patient observations, findings of exams and diagnostics, treatments, and medications in the medical record.
  • Develop treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization and communicate effectively with referral hospitals to ensure continuity of patient care.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
  • Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state in which the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.
  • Current DEA license and Controlled Substance License, if applicable, in the state in which the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.
