Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Material Handler is tasked with the efficient movement of products and materials within a warehouse or production setting, utilizing powered vehicles and tools.

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate industrial machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Unload and load products from delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Transport materials to designated storage areas throughout the facility.
  • Organize and stack unitized materials within the warehouse, ensuring optimal use of space.
  • Deliver requested materials to assembly zones, accurately recording all transactions using a barcode scanner.
  • Manage waste disposal by transporting refuse to designated locations within the facility.
  • Assist in the disassembly and reorganization of pallets upon receipt of goods, as needed.
  • Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of the forklift and complete the necessary checklist.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Manually move products and materials as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED); or one year of relevant experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Certification in forklift operation is required, or the ability to pass a written certification exam and demonstrate proficient forklift operation skills. Capability to operate manual and powered pallet jacks is essential.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

The employee must possess the ability to operate a lift truck safely in both the warehouse and racking systems. Proficiency in using a barcode scanner and documenting transactions accurately is necessary. The ability to read and interpret material request forms and supply appropriate products to assembly lines is required. The candidate should also be capable of making informed decisions regarding the proper storage of products in the warehouse, adhering to a first-in-first-out inventory system.
