Purpose:

As a key member of the Wings Over team, the Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking all menu items to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Job Duties:
  • Prepare all menu items to customer order specifications, ensuring timely delivery and exceptional quality.
  • Fry, grill, and sauce chicken to exacting standards, meeting customer requests and preferences.
  • Accurately read orders from the Point of Service (POS) system, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Prepare multiple orders simultaneously, maintaining efficiency and productivity.
  • Package food orders for pick-up or delivery, ensuring presentation and quality meet Wings Over standards.
  • Filter oil and clean fryolaters using safety equipment daily, adhering to strict health and safety protocols.
  • Follow food safety guidelines at all times, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Maintain the kitchen (back of the house) in a clean, neat, and orderly manner, ensuring a positive work environment.
  • Ensure all dishes and cleaning are complete at the end of each shift, adhering to Wings Over standards.
  • Ensure all kitchen/food preparation is completed each shift as needed, including sauces, vegetables, ribs, and other food items.
  • Cross-train to assist order takers and delivery drivers when necessary, meeting all requirements.
  • Complete the Wings Workbook and weekly tasks, demonstrating commitment to excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, supporting the Wings Over team in achieving its goals.
Necessary Skills for Success:
  • Employer-provided food safety training required by state health code.
  • Understanding of commercial kitchen equipment safety and operation.
  • Thorough knowledge of menu items and sauce flavors, ensuring accurate preparation and presentation.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work scheduled shifts.
  • Proactive approach to work-related duties, demonstrating a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, cooperating with all team members.
Necessary Qualifications for Success:
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and provide documentation to complete the form I-9 within 3 days of employment.
  • Must be 18 years of age and have an acceptable criminal background check.
  • Experience with quick service restaurant cooking is preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing for entire shift, bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Frequent movement within the kitchen and backrooms.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent lifting up to 20 pounds when stocking the cooler.
  • Working with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment.
  • Constant operation of kitchen equipment.
  • Consistent ability to see and hear customers via phone and in person.
