Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients
  • Assist clients with ambulation and mobility
  • Prepare and serve meals in accordance with prescribed diets
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry and cleaning
  • Assist clients with grocery shopping and errands
  • Monitor vital signs and report changes to the physician or nurse
  • Keep a detailed record of caregiving activities
Requirements
  • Successful completion of a New York State Department of Health approved Home Health Aide training program
  • High school or equivalent (preferred, not required)
  • Ability to work effectively with clients and their families
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional variables
