Your Role

In this position, you will take charge of the design and engineering for a variety of projects, each differing in scale and intricacy. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Serving as the Engineer-of-Record for projects, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest standards.
  • Applying your engineering expertise to assess, select, and specify electrical systems in compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Conducting field investigations and collaborating with clients and contractors to gather essential project information.
  • Preparing detailed design calculations and leading the creation of construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
  • Estimating project costs and contributing to business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

As part of your role, you will:
  • Act as the Engineer-of-Record for projects of varying complexity.
  • Evaluate and specify electrical systems for optimal project outcomes.
  • Engage in design development through sketches and electronic models.
  • Utilize advanced technologies to create three-dimensional models of electrical systems.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and designers.
  • Prepare and revise documentation throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Lead project coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in client meetings to define project requirements and conduct value analysis.
  • Manage project scope, budget, staffing, and timelines effectively.
  • Oversee quality assurance and control measures on your projects.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:
  • A comprehensive understanding of electrical and building codes.
  • Strong knowledge of project document production, particularly in the water/wastewater sector.
  • Experience leading teams through all phases of project execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and design software such as AutoCAD and Microstation.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Professional Engineer license.
  • A minimum of 7-8 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment

This role typically involves working in an office setting with extended periods of computer use. Fieldwork may involve exposure to various environmental conditions at water and wastewater facilities.
