Position Overview

The Chief Veterinary Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients while fostering strong relationships with their owners. This position encompasses physical examinations, surgical procedures, and dental care, with a strong emphasis on client communication and education. Our veterinarians are expected to treat every pet and client as part of our family.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the continuous assessment and management of clinical practices and patient care delivery.
  • Monitor the performance and productivity of associate veterinarians.
  • Collaborate with the hospital manager to enhance the financial performance of the facility, focusing on revenue generation and cost management.
  • Communicate examination findings and diagnoses to clients, presenting tailored treatment plans and educating them on preventative health measures.
  • Maintain accurate medical and surgical records, ensuring all logs are updated according to established protocols.
  • Stay informed about advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in Continuing Education opportunities.
  • Support the development of the veterinary team to guarantee exceptional care and client service.
  • Represent the hospital positively within the professional community and to the public.
  • Foster a family-like atmosphere for clients and treat each patient with the utmost care.
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from an accredited institution.
  • Valid licensure to practice veterinary medicine.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Required: 3+ years of veterinary practice experience.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance, with strong interpersonal skills and a friendly attitude.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team through various clinical cases.
  • Respectful and willing to collaborate with clients and their pets.
  • Compassionate team player committed to maintaining a stellar reputation with clients.
  • Dedication to upholding the highest standards of veterinary medicine and ethics.
  • Proficiency in surgical procedures.
