Position Overview

The City of Hope Chicago is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist for a hybrid role encompassing both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities. This position focuses on oncology patients, particularly those with head and neck conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work Schedule: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts during the day.
  • Patient Care: Provide assessment and treatment for cognitive, language, speech, and voice disorders.
  • Specialized Skills: Experience with dysarthria, dysphagia, tracheostomy care, and conducting modified barium swallow studies.
  • Documentation: Utilize EPIC for patient records and ensure compliance with facility-specific documentation.
Qualifications
  • Licensure: Must possess a valid state SLP license and BLS certification (AHA only).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role is required; 5 years preferred.
  • Orientation: Approximately 80 hours of orientation, with 72 hours of on-floor training.
Additional Requirements
  • Government-issued photo ID.
  • ACLS, PALS, CHEMO, and other certifications may be required based on specialty.
  • Health documentation including physical exams, immunizations, and drug testing.
