Highly Skilled Loss Prevention Specialist

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Loss Prevention Specialist to join our team at Marriott International, Inc. in Sarasota, Florida. This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the safety and security of our guests and employees.
Responsibilities:
- Patrol all areas of the property to detect and prevent potential losses.
- Monitor closed-circuit televisions, perimeter alarm systems, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems to ensure the safety of our guests and employees.
- Lock property entrances when required and conduct daily physical hazard inspections to identify potential risks.
- Respond to accidents, contact emergency services, and administer first aid or CPR as necessary.
- Assist guests and employees during emergency situations and notify appropriate individuals in the event of an accident or incident.
- Defuse guest or employee disturbances and call for outside assistance if necessary.
- Complete incident reports to document all Security/Loss Prevention-related incidents and handle all interruptions and complaints.
- Resolve safety hazard situations and escort any unwelcome persons from the property without interrupting the orderly flow of property operations.
- Report to scenes of vehicle accidents or thefts and call for assistance using proper code responses.
- Complete a Loss Prevention shift summary and daily activity report and maintain confidentiality of all Security/Loss Prevention and property reports/documents.
- Conduct investigations and gather evidence, and conduct interviews with relevant parties.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- No related work experience is necessary, but supervisory experience is preferred.
- No license or certification is required, but some states may have additional licensing/registration requirements.
Working Conditions:
- This is a non-management position that requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
- Must be able to move objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Must be able to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, and up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
- Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
