X-Ray Product Service Specialist

JOB OBJECTIVE:
Nikon Metrology, Inc. is in search of dedicated and skilled Service Specialists to showcase their proficiency in the installation, upkeep, repair, and enhancement of the Nikon Metrology X-ray product range.
WORK LOCATIONS:
Positions available in various regions including Michigan and Northern California, with a travel requirement of approximately 80%. Proximity to airports is preferred.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Field Service: Execute system installations, conduct preventive maintenance, implement upgrades, and troubleshoot system malfunctions. Provide technical support for Nikon Metrology X-ray products in accordance with established operational procedures.
- Training: Deliver product maintenance and software training as required.
- Inventory Management: Ensure the return of tools and parts post-service completion. Maintain service equipment and tools, providing inventory reports as necessary.
- Documentation: Timely submission of timesheets, expense reports, service reports, and other relevant documentation. Regular submission of radiation dosimetry data in compliance with company policies.
- Professional Representation: Always represent Nikon Metrology with professionalism.
SALES SUPPORT:
Assist Nikon dealers, sales teams, and fellow Service Specialists. Aid in the setup and dismantling of equipment for exhibitions. Support the technical sales of new products and services, and promote service contracts and additional offerings to clients.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct in-house testing and repairs of spare parts and systems as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Essential: Proficient electrical, electronic, and mechanical skills. A two-year technical degree with a minimum of four years of experience in a technical role, or over six years of experience in a technical capacity.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience: Familiarity with complex capital equipment and related subsystems, including vacuum systems, manipulators, high voltage systems, general mechanics, and PCs.
DESIRABLE SKILLS:
Ability to demonstrate fault finding at the board level.
FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to perform field service duties effectively under pressure while maintaining quality and professionalism.
- Strong communication skills in customer-facing situations.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Capability to integrate and troubleshoot computer hardware and software.
- Proficient use of tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, and basic hand tools.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Travel requirement of 80%, both domestically and internationally. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and access confined spaces as necessary.
