Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at United Hospital Center. As a key member of our Cardiopulmonary Services department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic and advanced therapeutic procedures for patients of all ages, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Assemble, check, and correct malfunctions of Respiratory Care equipment, ensuring optimal performance and patient safety.
  • Initiate, maintain, and discontinue mechanical ventilation for patients, as ordered by physicians.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and education.
  • Participate in departmental quality assurance and hospital-wide performance improvement activities to drive excellence in patient care.
Requirements
  • Licensed by the West Virginia Board of Respiratory Care as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist - Registered (LRTR) or equivalent state licensure.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, and/or other certifications may be required within 30 days of hire, depending on local hospital requirements.
  • Two (2) years of respiratory therapy experience in a hospital setting, preferred.
