Structural Integrity Analyst for Aerospace Systems

About the Role

DCS Corp is seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Structural Engineer to support the Air Force SEEK EAGLE Office (AFSEO) Modeling, Analysis, and Tools Support (SEMATS) 3 contract.

This exciting opportunity will enable the selected candidate to contribute to the USAF SEEK EAGLE aircraft/store compatibility effort, as well as broader USAF goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the structural integrity of aircraft, weapons, and suspension carriage systems based on approved loads, stress analysis, and test methods, and provide sound carriage limit recommendations.
  • Develop and execute sophisticated aircraft load prediction tools for predicting aircraft and weapon inertia and aerodynamic loads and environments.
  • Develop and execute safe, efficient flight test plans.
  • Reduce and interpret flight test data.
  • Assess analysis approaches and results, define any required testing, and ensure all structural integrity requirements are met.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree with 8 or more years of demonstrated experience in an applicable engineering discipline with direct application to the SEEK EAGLE aircraft-store certification process, or a Master's degree with 6 or more years' experience with an ABET-accredited degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance within 6-9 months.
Desired Skills
  • Experience in weapon systems development, integration, structural analysis, and testing.
  • Familiarity with aerospace airworthiness requirements and up to 15 years of experience with aerospace design and analysis methods, including external loads, internal loads, and stress analysis methods, and ground and flight testing.
  • Working knowledge of strength of materials, aerodynamics, numerical analyses, and computer programming.
  • Ability to modify existing analysis software for predicting aircraft and store loads.
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Matlab, Fortran, Python, C/C++) is highly desired.
  • Skills in Finite Element Modeling and Analysis methods are also desired.
