We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to become a vital part of our team at PATZ MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGIES. This role is essential in our dynamic manufacturing setting, where the selected candidate will take charge of executing scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on machinery and equipment, thereby minimizing unexpected breakdowns and implementing planned enhancements.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this position include:
- Conducting regular PM on machinery and equipment to guarantee peak performance and durability.
- Detecting and rectifying emerging mechanical issues to avert unforeseen failures.
- Utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to organize, schedule, and record maintenance and repair tasks.
- Installing new machinery or modifying existing equipment as part of strategic improvements.
- Effectively communicating with managers, technicians, and machine operators to ensure smooth coordination and execution of maintenance and repair tasks.
- Supervising and mentoring at least one other team member.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues related to electric motors (AC and DC), motor controllers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, heaters, chillers, pumps, fans, and electrical wiring.
- Dismantling, repairing, and reassembling complex machinery using various tools, including specialized equipment such as MIG welders, drill presses, and band saws.
- Coordinating daily operations with managers and machine operators, and occasionally liaising with external service providers, including parts suppliers and repair specialists.
- Implementing lockout/tagout procedures and adhering to all safety regulations.
- Organizing and maintaining tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory while ensuring a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, or 4 years with a completed program from a technical college or school.
- A strong mechanical aptitude and a keen interest in tools, machinery, and control systems.
- The ability to work independently and efficiently, with or without direct supervision, often under the pressures of production schedules.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining tools, parts, and equipment.
- Experience with electronics (PLCs, VFDs, Servo drives, relays, etc.) is advantageous.
- The capability to read and comprehend manuals and diagrams, write clearly, and communicate effectively in English.
- A strong sense of reliability and a commitment to a standard 40-hour work week.
The physical demands of this position include:
- Regular communication, including talking and listening.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls.
- Regular standing, walking, sitting, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels in the work environment.
