Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Shoe Backroom Manager to join our team. As a key member of our backroom operations, you will be responsible for ensuring that our shoe inventory is accurately stocked, priced, and displayed on the sales floor.

Responsibilities
  • Unload product from freight and accurately tag, fold, hang, and price merchandise for display on the sales floor or in back stock.
  • Restock merchandise on the sales floor and bring product to the floor for display.
  • Assist customers and sales associates with retrieving and loading purchased product.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace and surrounding areas, adhering to SCHEELS' high standards of appearance and cleanliness.
  • Perform basic math calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, to accurately manage inventory and sales floor displays.
  • Read and comprehend written instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence as needed.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and colleagues, both in person and over the phone, to provide excellent customer service.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve sales floor and inventory goals.
  • Exercise sound judgment and tact when interacting with customers and colleagues, and maintain a positive and professional attitude in all interactions.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of SCHEELS' products, services, and policies to provide expert advice to customers.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership and support leads to ensure the smooth operation of the sales floor and backroom.

  • Efficiency: Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines to ensure the smooth operation of the sales floor and backroom.
Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1-3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation. The physical demands of this role are very heavy, requiring exertion of in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
