Gastroenterology Specialist

The Gastroenterology Technician 1 plays a vital role in the healthcare team at Baylor Scott & White Health, assisting with technical procedures and patient care services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

• Equipment Maintenance: Safely operate and maintain equipment according to established policies and procedures.
• Procedure Support: Assist physicians and clinical staff members in carrying out procedures that require aseptic techniques and standard precautions.
• Patient Care: Prepare patients for exams or procedures, transport equipment, and help physicians as needed.
• Observation and Reporting: Observe patients, recognize changes in condition, and promptly seek assistance from appropriate staff members.
• Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean rooms before and after procedures, take soiled equipment to the decontamination room, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Inventory Management: Maintain an adequate inventory of equipment and supplies for assigned areas and place orders as needed.
• Quality Control: Perform quality checks on equipment, ensure repairs, and clean and disinfect specialty equipment according to established policies and procedures.

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Experience: Less than 1 Year of Experience
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
