Job Overview:

The Respiratory Therapist - Patient Care Specialist plays a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases and illnesses for patients of various age groups. Reporting to the Director of Cardio-Respiratory Care Services and/or the Respiratory Care Manager, Supervisor, and/or Clinical Coordinator, this individual sets up, operates, and evaluates life support equipment to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to deliver personalized care.
  • Operates and evaluates all types of routine and advanced life support equipment in accordance with established department policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to patients across different age groups.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; AMA-approved School of Respiratory Care graduate preferred.
  • Registry eligible or Registered Respiratory Therapist licensure required.
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience in all aspects of Respiratory Care is preferred.
  • New York State license or permit, Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross are mandatory.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
