Position Overview:
The role of the Sales Associate is centered around embodying and promoting the core values of Ace Hardware.
This position is primarily accountable for driving sales and managing retail operations within designated departments.Key Responsibilities:
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow associates to ensure that every customer receives exceptional service consistently.
Customer Interaction: Elevate Customer Service as the top priority in assigned areas and throughout the store. Be proactive in assisting all customers, not just those in the assigned department. Stay informed about all relevant promotions and advertisements.Assist customers in finding products within the store and respond to any inquiries. Encourage customers to enroll in the Ace Rewards program. Support customers with special orders.
Inventory Management: Participate in the handling of new shipments and assist the team in maintaining an organized receiving and back stock area. Work towards achieving accurate inventory counts alongside inventory coordinators. Ensure proper handling of merchandise returns. Communication: Implement daily operational goals and priorities as directed by department leadership or management.Engage actively in daily team meetings and remain vigilant regarding shoplifting activities.
Training and Development: Aid in the onboarding and development of colleagues. Complete required training for the assigned department and position. Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures consistently, being attentive to safety concerns. Follow cleanliness standards daily to uphold the store's appearance. Maintain knowledge of overall store policies, procedures, and objectives.Merchandising and Store Standards:
Additional Qualifications:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Previous experience in sales and retail environments, building relationships, and engaging with customers is advantageous. Stay well-informed about important facts related to assigned departments.
Communicate effectively with others and collaborate well within a retail team. Be open to constructive feedback and guidance.Demonstrate excellent communication abilities, strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to multitask. Possess product knowledge and a willingness to learn.
Foster and maintain positive relationships with customers, colleagues, and management. Always exhibit politeness and attentiveness towards customers and staff. Dress in accordance with company standards. Be flexible and willing to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs.Physical Requirements:
