Job Title: Senior Geologist or Hydrogeologist

Job Summary:

Barr Engineering Company is seeking a senior-level geologist or hydrogeologist to join our team in Minnesota. As a key member of our environmental remediation team, you will be responsible for conducting complex investigations, evaluations, and remediation of contaminated sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform or coordinate ASTM Phase I environmental site assessments for property transactions
  • Design, implement, and coordinate Phase II investigations, including contaminated soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and vapor intrusion
  • Interpret data and develop site conceptual models
  • Develop site management strategies and response action plans (RAPs)
  • Estimate costs associated with remediation activities
  • Prepare technical reports and respond to quotes and proposals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in geology or hydrogeology or related disciplines
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Flexible working style and ability to work independently and with teams
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in geology or hydrogeology or related disciplines
  • Registered professional geologist or ability to become registered within one year
  • Familiarity with Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) guidance documents
  • Project management and leadership experience with complex projects
  • Experience conducting communications, meetings, and negotiations with clients and regulatory personnel

Work Environment:
