Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, organization, and direction of engineering activities to improve renewable energy facilities.
  • Oversee the design, specification, cost estimation, construction, and commissioning of capital improvement projects related to power generation and electrical distribution systems.
  • Develop and review tendering documents to ensure compliance with electrical codes and constructability standards.
  • Collaborate with operations and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards for system reliability.
  • Provide electrical safety training and act as a subject matter expert on lockout-tagout procedures, arc flash analysis, and OSHA compliance.
  • Support operations teams with troubleshooting and failure analysis to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Manage internal and external engineering resources for project development and permitting.
  • Work with utility companies to identify and resolve system faults or disturbances.
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure work meets specifications, regulatory requirements, and applicable codes.
  • Recommend corrective actions to address issues during project implementation.
  • Achieve company health, safety, and environmental policy compliance for all projects.
  • Provide cost control and monthly budget forecasts for assigned projects.
  • Maintain accurate and organized engineering records.
  • Review and analyze maintenance reports and test results to prioritize work and contribute to budget planning.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Familiarity with power generation systems, including transformers, generators, AC/DC control systems, relay protection, and high/low voltage distribution up to 115KV.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and manage concurrent projects.
  • Effective negotiation skills with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Practical, adaptable, and solution-focused approach to engineering challenges.
  • Availability to support operations during power system disruptions and supervise repair activities.
