We are currently seeking a Senior Float Pharmacy Technician to assist in the operations of our mental health pharmacy. This role involves dispensing medications and performing essential administrative tasks under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, no evenings or weekends, with an 8-hour shift scheduled between 8 AM and 6 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service to patients and clinic staff
- Assist in filling prescription orders for verification under pharmacist supervision
- Manage the ordering, receiving, and storage of pharmacy supplies
- Process medication orders from wholesalers
- Maintain accurate inventory records through data entry
- Collaborate with the pharmacist to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Perform various administrative tasks related to pharmacy operations
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned
- This is a full-time float position covering multiple locations, requiring travel throughout California. Candidates must be prepared to cover various sites as needed, with travel expenses reimbursed. Responsibilities include managing travel arrangements and adhering to company policies.

Required Qualifications:
- Valid and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in California
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a retail or clinical Pharmacy Technician
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel throughout California as needed
- Flexibility to accommodate last-minute schedule changes
- Ability to manage travel logistics and expense reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in Spanish
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification
Note: The sign-on bonus is exclusive to external candidates. Current employees of Optum or related entities are not eligible for this incentive.
Compensation: The hourly wage for California residents ranges from $16.54 to $32.55, influenced by factors such as local labor markets, experience, and qualifications. Optum offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive programs and retirement contributions, subject to eligibility.
