Job Summary

CHS Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Seasonal Operations Specialist to join our team in Chokio, MN. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of our Fall Harvest operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out general labor responsibilities with a focus on efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of commodities handled at the location, adhering to company policies and government regulations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, working with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, which may involve sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching/detaching flexible hoses.
  • Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and/or trucks using heavy or light-duty machinery/equipment.
  • Monitor and control all load-out functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Operate automated scale/dump systems, understanding and following safety protocols.
  • Conduct and record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, including lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms.
  • Inspect in-use equipment for seeps and leaks, reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of inventory, including blended, bulk, or packaged products.
  • Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed, and others to customer sites.
  • Ensure all work areas are clean, orderly, and safe, completing regular housekeeping duties.
  • Perform grounds maintenance, including snow removal, and warehouse work, including driving a loader, loading/unloading inventory, forklift operation, and general maintenance.
  • Promptly report any customer complaints, repair or maintenance needs, or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture, following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of operations and/or business operations.
  • Must meet minimum age requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Agriculture experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins.
  • Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package, including base wage and potential bonus, incentives, and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors, including experience, education, training, specialized skills, and certifications.
