Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Demand Planning Specialist to join our Outdoor Performance Demand Planning team. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating future demand for Outdoor Performance products and analyzing inventory flow to build forecasting models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize statistical forecasting models to generate unit demand forecasts for forecast groups and SKUs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including product, trade marketing, and sales teams, to gather input and insights.
  • Manage SKU-level forecasting by forecast group and location.
  • Establish inventory policies for assigned SKUs and ensure on-hand inventory goals are achieved.
  • Contribute to the performance of outdoor sales and operations planning (S&OP) process.
  • Manage product life cycles, including beginning-of-life and end-of-life planning.
  • Plan exit strategies and transition plans for excess inventory.
  • Analyze and consolidate large volumes of data, develop a fact-based point of view, and communicate to management via presentations and reports.
  • Facilitate monthly inventory/replenishment reviews with buying staff to communicate trends and assumptions.
  • Develop and maintain weekly SKU-level demand signals for new, active, and discontinued products.
  • Identify key opportunities and obstacles inherent to the forecasting process and assist management in continuous improvement.
  • Support long-range factory capacity planning processes by maintaining unit forecasts for 12-18 future months.
  • Responsible for end-of-life SKU planning and liquidation.
  • Collaborate with key customers and field sales to gain outside market data.
  • Build and communicate inventory stock position issues, KPI tracking, new product launch/end of season, and additional reporting.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Demand Planner or similar role.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
  • Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
