Job Overview

The Automotive Vehicle Registration Specialist plays a crucial role in facilitating the smooth check-in and registration process for customer vehicles intended for auction sales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently enter vehicle details into the AS400 system using a handheld device or collaborate with team members for data entry for each vehicle received, including:
    • Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
    • Stock number
    • Dealer identification number
    • Make, model, year, mileage, color, options, etc.
    • Affix barcode/stock number stickers to each vehicle
  • Attach work order numbers and labels to vehicles upon arrival and identify vehicles without keys.
  • Guide transporters to designated vehicle drop-off areas and report any transport-related damages as necessary.
  • Capture digital images of each vehicle upon receipt for record-keeping.
  • Assign the appropriate sale identification windshield code to vehicle drivers during check-in.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and actively participate in safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with safety leaders to foster a culture of Safety Excellence within the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management, which may include assisting with vehicle operation during auction events.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Valid driver's license
  • Basic proficiency in computer operations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in auction processes or vehicle registration
  • Capability to operate vehicles with both standard and automatic transmissions
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear
  • Frequent activities include stooping, kneeling, bending, squatting, and climbing
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Work Environment
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions
  • Moderate noise levels may be present

A pre-employment drug test is required for this position. Cox Automotive does not conduct pre-employment drug tests for marijuana; however, the use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited on company premises.
