Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Northern Light Inland Hospital in Waterville, ME. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating, planning, directing, and administering physical therapy modalities of treatment to patients with various conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients to determine the extent of their physical disabilities and develop treatment plans to help them achieve their maximum potential.
  • Administer physical agents and procedures, such as exercise, heat, cold, and electrical stimulation, to help patients recover from injuries or illnesses.
  • Assist patients in learning to live within the limits of their capabilities and provide education on proper body mechanics and exercise techniques.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of physical therapy assistants and aides to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and maintain accurate records of patient treatment and progress.
Requirements
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of Maine.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to lift, move, and load 30 to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations. The Physical Therapist will be required to work in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient departments, and may be required to work alternate shift schedules, including evenings, nights, and weekends.

The Physical Therapist will be exposed to potential hazards, including abusive and/or aggressive people, hazardous materials, and uncomfortable noise levels. The position requires the ability to drive to perform responsible duties and may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
