Job Summary

Terra State Community College is seeking a highly skilled Grant Funded Grants Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing grant budgets, ensuring compliance with grant agreements, and providing financial analysis and reporting support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and edit grant budgets and budget narratives
  • Assist with internal review and approval process for grant proposals
  • Coordinate with the Financial Affairs Office to establish General Ledger (GL) account codes associated with grants
  • Ensure funding award checks and direct deposits are delivered to the Financial Affairs Office
  • Participate in grant kick-off meetings and quarterly check-in meetings with project managers and stakeholders
  • Provide support to project managers for the duration of the grant cycle on matters associated with grant budgets
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted expenses and notify the project manager and assist in resolving the differences
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc Grants & Sponsored Programs reports that include budget and financial data
  • Support project managers by developing, reviewing, and editing budgets to be included in their grant reports
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital records of all current and past grant budgets, including reporting procedures and deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance and other regulations in accordance with the grant agreement
  • Prepare audit worksheets, schedules, reports, and supporting documentation to be used during grant audits
  • Conduct specialized financial analysis as requested by the Vice President and Grants Specialist
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Three to five years of related work experience
Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding of general accounting principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, etc.) and general computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
  • Problem solving and resourcefulness with challenges that may arise in the workplace
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and private grant funding agency regulations and guidelines
Work Environment

The work environment is moderate, with occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
