Job Description

Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing the Warehouse team's overall direction, ensuring high-performance and engagement in safety and standard operating procedures to meet or exceed results in product quality, production deadlines, and safety. Will hire, train, and coach team members. Develops and implements standard operating procedures and company guidelines for efficient workflows.

Essential Functions

1. Overall Department Direction:

  • Sets clear goals for the department and maintains respectful accountability.

2. Team Management:

  • Manages and coaches team members in a specific role to ensure work is performed to expectations for safety, quality, and production deadlines. May require technical expertise such as maintaining certifications or licenses to properly train team members in proper handling (forklift, driver, pallet jack, nail gun skills). Gives feedback about performance to job expectations and manages performance, including completing performance reviews, hiring new team members, and setting salaries. Makes independent decisions about work priorities and procedures.

3. Manages Time and Attendance:

  • Creates and oversees systems and team member schedules for start/stop, meal, and rest periods and time-off.

4. Inventory Management:

  • Coordinates an efficient, safe, and effective receipt, storage, inventory, and dispatch of warehoused goods.
  • Controls, maintains, and supervises inventory.
  • Supervises team to conduct physical counts of products to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Monitors and measures receiving and warehouse performance for accuracy of locator, receiving reporting, movement, and storage of material, and transfers to service parts.
  • Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures. Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.

5. Unloading and Distribution:

  • Ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensures receiving reports accurately report material received.
  • Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports. Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry.
  • Oversees the movement of material from distribution to the restaurant location in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.

Marginal Functions

Role models safe team member practices and efficient department standards.

Additional Responsibilities:

Undertakes additional responsibilities as delegated.

Supervision, Developing Budgets, Safety Management, Developing Standards, Managing Processes, Surveillance Skills, Inventory Control, Reporting Skills, Analyzing Information, Equipment Maintenance, Strong relationship building skills cross department and a strong working relationship with the field district management team as well as the restaurant operators.

Requirements

Education/Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a warehouse/distribution leadership role.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills to build a high-performing team.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, deadline-driven, continuous improvement behaviors.
  • Netsuite (Oracle) and RF-Smart knowledge/expertise is needed to be successful in this role.
  • Bachelor's degree or related/equivalent experience in the field preferred.
