We are currently seeking a mid-senior level Geotechnical Engineer with a focus on railroad projects to join our team.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee multiple clients, contracts, and projects concurrently.
  • Conduct geotechnical engineering analyses, studies, and calculations.
  • Draft and compile engineering reports and documentation.
  • Execute field explorations, sample collection, geological reconnaissance, and mapping.
  • Perform construction site observations and maintain summary logs and documentation.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members at all levels.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise junior engineers and staff.
  • Review technical reports and engineering calculations prepared by junior engineers.
  • Support business development initiatives, including cost proposal preparation and client presentations.
  • Adhere to Shannon & Wilson's Quality Assurance policies.
  • Promote and follow Health and Safety and Loss Prevention policies.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Master's or PhD Degree in Geotechnical Engineering (or Geological Engineering), supported by a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Geology (preferred).
  • 8 to 17 years of experience in the field of Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) License in the relevant state.
  • Experience in mentoring and supervising staff.

Depending on the applicant's educational background, experience, and qualifications, a mid-level Geotechnical Engineer may be positioned at a Senior Professional I, II, or III level within Shannon & Wilson.
